The Shops at Woodward
Place is an exciting new
neighborhood shopping
center in the City of
Highland Park, Michigan,
which opened in March
2008.This project consists of approximately 40,000 square feet of retail shops that is anchored by Aldi Foods. Aldi is an international grocery chain of over 5,000 stores successfully expanding in urban areas. Additional projected tenants will include a national coffee outlet, restaurant, pizza shop, and other retail stores.
Building construction features an all brick design facade with crown moldings, highlighted with awnings and includes extensive landscaping, decorative wrought iron fencing, an old style clock and a flag plaza. The Plaza also features music piped into the common areas, and abundant secure lighting throughout. This $6,000,000 development will create over 100 new jobs.
Curis Enterprises, developers of Riverbend Plaza and Mack Alter Square on Detroit's east side, worked with the City of Highland Park and HP Devco,
Inc. to bring this new
development to the
former Sears site in the
Town Center area of
Highland Park.
Mark Thomas, has partnered with the Curis Family, as he did at Mack Alter Square.
